For external client Freetrain, I decided to lock into a niche market, with very little currently available-Mastectomy wear. I chose this specificially as breats cancer runs heavily, mainly my mum, aunty, and grandma all having this at one or more points in their lives, and so I was heavily inspired from their experiences and what was truely needed in a post-surgery sports bra. I was also in contact with a facebook group of women who have survived breast cancer, whcih really gave me thoughful insight.

I used bamboo on the side wings, for softness, and sensetive lycra for the rest of the garments for breathability and sustainability. I made sure that the sports bra could be taken off from the front and back to be as inclusive as I could, as well as having bagged out the inside to allow for no visable seams on either side.

I wanted to add reverdsability to the jacket and shorts for sustainability and aesthetical reasons. Being inspired from strawberries gave a really interesting print, as well as contrasting, yet complimentary, colours for either side.

I was one of three finalists for this project for Freetrain and ended up coming second. I also recieved The Roadly Award for this project for its sustainability purpose.
