FREETRAIN
EXTERNAL CLIENT

Working with Freetrain as an external client, I wanted to create a completely newgarment for them, whcile still fitting in with their styles and general company ethos. I decided to create a mastectomy sports bra, as well as a reversable jacket and shorts to cpmplete the outfiit. I was initially inspired by strawberries for colour and pattern, which I used througout this project, showing my initial ideas through to the end product.
I wanted to focus on breats cancer awareness as, not only does it run in my family, but it's a very niche market that not many companies have tapped into. To help with this, the bra can be taken off at the front and the back, as well as removable padding in the cups and a bamboo side wing for softness. I also bagged out all my garments so there are no seams on the outside or inside. I wanted to add reversability with this product as it reduces the amount of clothes you need to buy, as well as aesthetically two products in one.

In this competition I was one of three finalists, whcih allowed me to go to the Freetrain headquarters to showcase my work. I ended up in second place and was commened on my work.

For this specific project I also was awarded the Roadly Award for the sustainable aspects, of which I also won £250.

FINAL MAJOR PROJECT
BETTA HUES-HERO OUTFIT

Looking into the buying habits of festival goers, I wanted to see how I could sell my ideas, while trying to reduce the vast amount of fashion being wasted and ending up in landfill. Using trend statistics, as well as my own analysis, I wanted to bring underwear that can be worn as outerwear. This double garment use would reduce the need for a whole new wardrobe for festival seasons, which is detrimental as approx. 32 million people attend festivals every year, with most clothes going to waste.
With my generation attending the most festivals, I felt it personal to create this multiuse line-up. In my final project I was inspired from Betta fish to create festival friendly garments. These all contained a full underwear set, as well as outerwear options, which can be interchangeable and worn alone. I used fabrics from small companies, eco friendly dyes, and hand printed to reduce energy costs. I also made the garments personal to festivals by adding supportive straps and cut outs for breathability.

LOUNGE
EXTERNAL CLIENT

Designing a range for Lounge I wanted to make have my garments fit their style and ethos, while hvaing a new style and techniques they currently don't. I took inspiration from rose quartz for their healing factors, positivity, and elegancy. I used mesh as my main fabric for breathability, yet a very fine and elegant look. Working with embroidery to add more details and definition,, I used some of my hand drawings as the subtle detailings.
To add some branding, I not only used some Lounge inspiration with machine embroideery, but added my own idea with wire lettering. To add more delicate details I added in fine chains over the bust, as well as adding two physical rose quartz pieces in the CF of the bra and suspenders. This was also made removable for a more suble outfit.
